Job Title Quality Assurance Technician (RMA)
Reports to Production Supervisor
Classification Non – Exempt – Full Time

Job Purpose

 

The RMA Technician is part of the Production Department and provides support to Manufacturing.  Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

·         Diagnose and repair electro-mechanical problems within devices returned by customers.

·         Read product schematics such as Gerber files, PCAD, and Altium.

·         Administer related transactions utilizing Excel and the company database.

·         Relay findings to production, quality, and engineering.

·         Provide repair/replace estimates on RMA’s.

·         Perform incoming inspection of electrical components.

·         Participate in Production department functions.

·         Cleaning of contaminated equipment returned by customers.

·         Customer service.

·         Other duties, responsibilities, and directives assigned by management are expected to be performed.

 

Qualifications/Experience

 

Associate’s degree in electrical engineering. At least 1-2 years of work experience working in the electrical engineering setting is preferred.
Ability to operate equipment: Oscilloscope, Stereoscopic Microscope, Digital Multi-meter, Soldering Iron, De-soldering tools, and the like.
Excellent surface mount and through-hole soldering skills
Ability to follow electrical test procedures
Ability to write test procedures
Experience using common hand tools (i.e., screw drivers, pliers, drills, etc.)
Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, MRP/ERP systems, etc.)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to learn new tasks
Problem resolution oriented

Ability to work independently, or in a cross functional group
Working Conditions

 

This is an indoor job requiring extensive repetitive use of hand tools and the ability to sit/stand for long periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in a temperature-controlled environment.

 

Physical Requirements

 

This job requires a certain amount of walking about the various departments
Use of hands is required to occasionally operate various equipment and handheld tools
The employee must be able to lift up to 40 Pounds occasionally
The employee will be required to wear safety glasses and other personal protective equipment as needed
